As I believe we mentioned in the Blade 2005 thread, Spectre and I got a chance to personally thank Jerry Busse for his Rusty and Uncle Bill raffle knives at the show yesterday. We ended up talking for about 15 minutes and I came away with a new appreciation for Jerry and his knives. He was very down to earth for such a big name in the knife world. I started a thread here at the Busse forum to express my appreciation again, and thought some other Cantinistas would like chime in. The knives themselves are quite impressive BTW, nice convex grinds and a slight recurve to give a khukuri-esque feel. Jerry does good work to be sure. Whoever manages to get those two is in for a real treat.

Very cool!! Thanks for sharing that with us and pointing us to the thread. I've had 2 Busse knives in the last few years and both were really good. Jerry and the gang were really helpfull when I was picking them out. Nice guys. :)

These are beautiful knives by a great guy. I hope they sell for an enormous amount, and that the money is cheerfully given and well-used by the families of our absent friends.

Thanks Roadrunner, that was a good idea.

John, why'd you go and knock Jerry's thingies down?

I hope they do also. John, I'll tell you what. You said your next knife would be a Busse or Swamp Rat. I'll reciprocate. To paraphrase another HI member, I got stuck in the SR, Busse forums and couldn't get out. I've wanted one, now's both our chance.

Cool?

Cool. :)

The ugly rubber handle on some of the smaller SRs really does seem to work well...

Sir Bamboo, I would not, in deliberation, knock Sir Jerry's things. 'Twas merely the mishap of my oafish fingers, and Sir Jerry's clever domino arrangement :p

It was great to meet you guys and others from your "camp".

Top notch people IMHO.

I'll tell ya, I knocked over that brass placque about 300 times due to sleep deprivation (I assume you meant the one we had by the 2 knives.). Man, I was feelin oafish myself.

Let's hope those pups are able to exceed our expectations in their ability to help in the time of need.
