HOGs Beware

A heads up is good but it could spill out in an ugly manner over here. Keep any comments in the GB&U and everything will be fine. Otherwise this gets locked down, if it turns ugly over here that is.

That is a pretty sad thread. A lot of good people here on bladeforums, too bad there are always one or two of those running around.

Thanks for bringing it to everyones attention.

Les.

Thanks PG.

It just seems he is only doing this in the Busse XC so I wanted the "Good Guys" to be aware.

I was aware of the thread when kirk69 reached out to me over one of my listed knives, but I decided to be cordial and see what transpired...

Although he chose not to buy the knife in question, he never said that he would, nor used the phrase of intent. He asked some questions via email related to the knife and after, he asked a few other questions related to the forum and a sheath maker. He was polite throughout the exchange, and thanked me for my time & patience. I know that he's had a rocky start here on the Forums, but seems to be learning from his experiences, so maybe we should wait, watch & see before continuing to bash him. Turn the other cheek, brothers, and hopefully with some guidance, he will get the way things are done here. Just my $.02, YMMV. :)

I am heartened by what I hear from Jaxx and OTE.

But! I appreciate Doby's warning.

There is, indeed, a lot of exotic wild life out there ... :foot:

I agree. I feel that he may be young, and this is a learning experience for him.

I must say it is refreshing to have such great people on this forum with good attitudes and helpful suggestions, i.e. OP and Jaxx. It helps to have good examples for us "piglets" to look up to.

Thanks guys!

that, there, is a great attitude. Kudos.

Perhaps Kirk didnt know the etiquette that "ill take it" means that you are saying "I do till death do us part" The forum doesnt explicitly tell you the rules of no haggling prices and the "i'll take it" was maybe his way of securing knives he wanted. Sometimes learning the unspoken rules of the forum takes time. Lets give him a second chance now that he is well aware of the etiquette...IMO

Regarding second chances, gentlemen, I was always taught that it's not how a man conducts himself when the sailing is smooth, it's how he handles the stormy weather that's important. I had a deal go bad with kirk69, and that I can handle, but when he didn't get an email immediately regarding a refund the insults and insinuations started flying. There's a difference between breaking forum rules (written or unwritten), and acting out in an inappropriate manner, which is what the GB&U thread is about. I'm not clairvoyant;), but I'd bet dimes-to-dollars there's some drama coming down the turnpike here shortly! Just sayin...

Maybe the guy will learn the ropes.
Wasn't that long ago that they were Tar and Feathering Dobywon in the GBU:p:p
Look what a pleasure He has turned out to be!!

The good thing is that there are so many great folks here at Blade Forums and I have been fortunate to deal with them.

The occasional issue is to be expected and we can only hope that some folks learn and grow from mistakes. Unfortunately some choose not to.

It is one thing to "learn the ropes" but it is totally different when your just plain rude and call people names you dont know anything about jus because they dont reply as fast a you would like.

This was only meant to be a heads up for my brothers and sisters.

Have a great day HOGs!!!!
