Ive been fortunate enough to score some extremely sick knives lately including two NMFBMs, but that also means I have massively over spent on INFI and am going to have to sell some stuff.

The question is, Which to keep???? Between a CG .25 thick with hand shaped and the SOS .27 with machine ran handles, which do you think will be the better user? I have heard machine ran handles can cause hot spots during prolonged chopping sessions. Also, the CG version is significantly lighter but I am not sure if that is a good or bad thing. I probably wont be taking this knife on prolonged hiking trips, I have a basic 11 and a M9 for that role.

I think I like the SOS version better but will it be a better user?

Or should I keep both and sell some of my other knives???? I want to keep them both!

I also want to give a big thanks to Tomthebaker who sold me the NMFBM, he is a generous hog and always sends amazing cookies from his bakery with the knives I buy from him. Its hogs like him that make this such a great community.

If I were lucky enough to be in your dilemma I would keep the SOS, as I love the feel of the grips. Either way, you're going to make a good decision. Plus, I think the SOS would have to be less common (just a guess).

Wow KalEl....both knives are insane....I would not sale any of those...and the sheaths...are freaking nice....!! If I had to, I would sale the SOS and I'd keep the CG.

Now from other perspective; if you are going to use one of these knives for sporadic chopping then keep the SOS, if you are going to use the knife for hard and prolonged chopping, keep the CG.

Just a thought....

Rough choice. I had the CG and traded it to Tom so I guess if I had to I'd trade, I'd trade that one away again. It was a killer knife though and I loved the sheath.

Just to cause conniptions:

Send both to Busse and have them swap the grips, then keep the satin finished one.
Because:
You said you won't be packing either so might as well keep the heavier one and handshaped grips are the cat's meow.
Satin finish also won't hang onto wood when chopping.
The satin finish with black/ tan mags will still look killer in that sheath....where as orange mags will need a different sheath.
The satin's zero-edge convex grind is awesome!

The black coated with orange grips looks cool as heck as will be even more rare than either...so good selling point.

What he said.

Keep the satin and wear gloves?

I am partial to satin "keepers," but it will also command a higher price, along with the as-yet-uncommon SOS handles.

Thanks for the kind words!

I like the black & tan on black crinkle:cool: Wearing & tearing the crinkle coat off a CG is like painting a picture...and you have a fresh black canvas to work with!

I would keep the black bladed one

keep both.. theyre both so beautiful. I've got my SOS waiting for me at home. Get to open it tomorrow! hows it feel in the hand?

Sell them both. See? Easy solution!

;)
:D:D

I'd keep them both.

I like the black. Its .25 INFI, not like it's going to break on ya, I'd go for the (slightly) lighter weight. Great sheath BTW!

Ok After reading your guys responses I think I might just go ahead and keep both! Maybe.... I am going to sell some of my other blades. I can always buy another RMD or war dog. I probably won't have many chances at NMFBM's at decent prices.

Plus Im in Rainwalker's queue and am going to have him make me some sick leather pants to fit the SOS nmfbm.

The SOS feels INCREDIBLE in hand. Its so powerful and really fills out the palm. I haven't used either yet but the Fusion handle feels like a winner to me.
