I moved away from there 6 years ago. (Whitewater kayaking mecca, it was. 
) My father-in-law is still working as an engineer at ORNL - he's gotta be retiring in the next five years.
Have fun on your visit! Both Big South Fork and the Smokies are beautiful. When you are in Oak Ridge, look to your NW. The ridgeline you see (along with all of the windmills) is Windrock Mountain. My last TV station in K'ville, that's where our broadcast tower was located. I had to spend a lot of hours driving up a 4wd logging trail to get to that bloody tower in 5'-10' visibility fog!
