I have a Hogue EX-01 that I just got and I'm have a pivot screw problem. Every time I tighten it to where I'm happy it loosen up over again. I added blue loctite and waited 24 hours before flipping it open and closed. I don't know what to do to make it stop. Should I sent it to Hogue or add red loctite? I'll take all advice.

Thank you

contact hogue see what they have to say. they havent been makin knives for long but are top in the gun grip biz.

that being said i find there knives very well made. good luck

You might try to make sure that there is no grease or oil on the pivot screw area before applying the Loctite, as this may prevent the Loctite from adhering. The blue flavor is plenty adequate. You don't want the red stuff, because if it does work, its on there forever, or until you heat it to 500 degrees, whichever comes first.

I will clean out the pivot and try it agian with the loctite.

Thank you

If that dose not work I will call Hogue.

Or try a bit of that teflon plumber's tape on the threads of the pivot screw. That should also keep it from loosening and unlike Loctite, it's easily adjustable.

I never thought of teflon plumber's tape...I will also look into that...thank you.

Ok I cleaned out the piot and added more blue loctite. How this works, will update tomorrow.

Just contact the manufacturer before any extra "fixing" takes place. They would be the best option for advising you.

Ok after cleaning out the piot and added more blue loctite it looks to be working! Thanks evertone for the help.
