Hogue EX-F01 A2 steel

I ran across this today in CDA Idaho. There isnt much of a Hogue presence here So far im very impressed. Cocobola scales, 7 inch A2 tool steel. Excited to try it this summer.

What a beauty! Although that exposed tang all arround is not of my liking.... I would have preffered to have the scales fully covering the tang at the very least. Is this knife marketed as a fighther? Trying to find a justification for the sharpened pomel.
