I have seen these popping up on a few sites and I just wanted to see if anyone has put their hands on them. As a flipper lover, I am very interested in this knife.

Tuffthumbz on youtube got one, and posted a few videos about it. Based on those there are some things that really don't appeal to me. Worth checking out.

I'm guessing this was one of them:

I see he got the larger of the two. I wasn't interested in the bigger one because for the size, the weight is punitive. I'm interested in seeing the smaller one show up. It's also $20 or so cheaper.

I just picked up an EX-01 4-inch drop point and am sending it back to Hogue because it has some vert blade play on lockup. Not much but enough to bother me since it hasn't seen any hard use yet. Anyone else have this trouble? Other than that, I think it's a sweet knife. We'll see how it is when I get it back.

01 or 02?

My bad... I was looking for Hogue EX-01 posts and found this one. I realized that you guys are talking about EX-02's after I posted.
Gotta slow down and pay more attention!

does not seem that interesting especially for the materials that you get for almost $200

Are you saying the knife is overpriced because of the materials used or that that's what you can expect for $200?

I have owned 5 or 6 of the EX01's in all configurations, including the auto. They were all impeccably machined and very high quality, every one impressed me.

These EX02's are not doing a thing for me though. The handles seem bulky and bigger than necessary in all dimensions, the liners look thin, liner lock folders are so 1990, and the blade profiles just kind of cartoonish. So no, I won't be grabbing one of these.

The next model folder coming out looks like another winner though, the ones with the sculpted handles and button locks.

I love Hogue is EX - 02, lock, and powerful.

You have gotta be my favorite troll. One thread is broken English, the next has great grammar and punctuation, then the next has even worse broken English. All within 3 minutes.

And yes, is EX-02 lock, and powerful.

I have 2 of these, the flipper, and the thumbstud version, and really like them both. Each one opens very smothly, but the flipper is the fastest of the two. My flipper is in the green g-mascus, and the thumbstud model is in the black/gray g-mascus. Both came out of their boxes with the excellent workmanship I had read about very evident. I like a good linerlock knife and from what I can tell so far Hogue has done this mechanism justice! Both of mine have the spearpoint blade and are the large models.
