hey guys,
i've been looking at the houge line of knives and i like the looks and like that they are made in america and out of quality materials. but what i havent heard is how they compare to other folders in their price range. and same for the fixed blades as well. how their heat treat, fit and finish, overall quality. and value is. thank you for any help on this!

I have a Hogue EX01 3.5 with G10 body. Fit and finish, overall quality and value are greater than most folders in their price range. I can't really comment on heat treat as I haven't used the blade hard enough to cause blade chipping. 154cm is good stuff. In addition the button/plunge lock is excellent in that it locks tight with no blade play in any direction. There is also a sliding bar that when engaged keeps the lock button from depressing virtually making the knife function as a fixed blade.

I bought a few for a friend overseas.I was really impressed with the fit & Finish and high quality build.I havent treated myself to one yet,but they are on my list.Good looking with premium steel,S30V i think and super stout. If you're sitting on the fence,i dont think you would be disappointed.

Yes, as others have mentioned the build quality/F&F is really superb. I held off on getting one for a while, but once I did I found that they totally lived up to all the positive things people on the forums had said about them.

ok this is all good to hear, i will definitely consider getting myself one. i've been looking for a new folder to upgrade from my endura.

I have the medium in G10, the handle feels a bit small and I would love to have the large. That being said I love this knife, it is smooth as silk and solid. I carry it quite a bit. You will thank yourself later.

Mine is very smooth flies out like an assisted blade. Fit and finish are great! Was beefier than I expected and sharper. I highly reccomend getting one.

I have handled a couple and the fit and finish were top notch. I have not heard anything bad about them, I say pull the trigger on one.
