Hogue knives - who makes them?

Anybody know who's making the new Hogue folders? I would be surprised if they are making them at their pistol grip factory and so I assume they are contracting them out. Anybody know who and where they are actually being made?

I was curious about this too. I've heard great things about them, but as far as I know they weren't exactly equipped to make folders before this.

Hogue makes them. They put in a production facility to handle the product. Surprised? I was. Genuinely made in America by the manufacturer.

That's what I've heard, too. I don't remember whether it was in another Hogue thread or in one of the videos that Allen Elishewitz did on the EX01 series, but I do remember that Hogue was listed as the maker. Apparently, there are other edged products from Hogue in the pipeline somewhere as well, so maybe making them in house was seen as a good financial move.

Fixed blades and autos are in the pipeline.

The manufacturing quality of the knife is absolutely superb, and for the price it's amazing.

Just picked up a 4" X-01 in green G-mascus. Superb knife. Build quality is excellent and blade is razor sharp right out of the box. Very pleased overall.

The 4" is my favorite - I have a 3.5 and 4" in G-Mascus. 3.5 = green, 4" = black. Superb knives.

The button is outside the plane of the scale at the center of the button but very subtle. You have to recess the tip of the button, which is slightly domed, below the plane of the scale a good bit to release the lock. Plus you have what Hogue calls, a Manual/Semi-Auto Safety that locks the button from disengaging the lock.

Curious how strong the lock spring is and how recessed the button. I have always liked Hogue.

Great knife, I have two 3.5 and 4 , one of best production knifes right now

Allen Elishewitz has 3 vids on youtube concerning the EX01 that should satisfy most your curiosity. Just search for Hogue EX01.

I have one, 4" Tanto, black g-mascus (gotta luv that name :D) and it is a seriously robust beast. Definitely designed to be a user and not a safe queen.

As other have noted, its made by Hogue.
Combining Hogue's many years of manufacturing knowledge (I've used and sold a ton of their pistol grips) with Allen Elishewitz's design and knife making skills, really produced a winner.
