If a man has a 4" drop point blade Hogue, and he decided to get another one,
would you get a tanto?

Their fix blades do look good. I would like to have the 7" to carry on the 4 wheeler.

I have the tanto and it has a nice look and gives the impression it could tackle almost anything. Does tend to be a bit blade heavy at first handling, but after a few minutes you don't notice it.
I've been considering a drop point as an addition, but that may stay on hold until the ex02 comes out.....thinking I might be able to see and handle that that at this years Blade.

Is the aluminum handle knife a lot stronger than the G10?

6061 aluminum is very strong. I can't say if it's stronger than G10, but I did see someone run over a flashlight in aluminum with his truck and it was fine aside from the scuff marks. My only concern with aluminum has always been the coating.

I'm pretty sure the aluminum models do not share the same SS bolster plate with the G-Mascus. I might be wrong because all I've ever owned are G-Mascus models. If not though, they should. Even without owning an aluminum model, I can't envision a smoother, more natural feeling action that the two steels rubbing aganist each instead of a layer of two to four materals in the friction fight. The G10 models I have had were as smooth as any other good knife, even in their own way. The 4" G-Mascus pretty much only needed a verbal command to open ;)

I'm pretty sure you are correct about that.

It is a very smooth knife. Very robust, makes you feel like you could chop down a tree with the darn thing. Dang impressive production knife.

Only minor complaint I had with mine is that the detent was a little less than I would have liked. Which is contrary to what others have said.

A man might go with another drop point in a different style handle!

Fixed blades!?!?!

Man there are SOOO many great knives coming out these days.

I've been wanting to try the 4" drop point with black aluminum handle. I love the 3.5 in gmascus, just wish the handle was a bit longer.
