My box is waiting for me, at home (still a couple hours away), I am excited about the Ritter but a little stressed. My wife was gonna get me a ZT 0562ti but I chose the Hogue Ritter instead. Now I thinking- does it just fill the same niche as my CS AD10? Other than being easier to close, am I gonna notice much difference (in use/application)?

Should I have gotten the 0562tu?

The Ritter and the AD-10 are different animals. Blade thickness is a biggie, 0.13" on the Ritter and 0.15" on the AD-10; ditto with weight and handle length, the AD-10 is almost 2.5 oz. heavier and its handle is 0.75" longer.

That all adds up to a much beefier knife -- less of an all-rounder, more of a bruiser. I think there will be plenty of situations where you'd pocket one over the other, and there's almost certainly room in your collection for both.

The ZT probably comes closer to overlapping with your AD-10.

That's literally what I said in the post above yours. Don't copy answers

I assume you're making a joke, but just in case: We definitely didn't say the same thing. :D Does it fill the same niche? No. Will I notice a difference? Yep. Should I have gotten the ZT? More likely to overlap with your AD-10.

Well, you were definitely correct! I got it and they are not the same, at all.

Ok, this is gonna sound weird but DANG is this a small knife. I am carrying now to see if I warm up to it. So far, I really ain't feelin it.

I will say - the action is GLASS, seriously smooth. The blade is the sharpest and most even edge I have seen from the factory. The action combined with the shape and placement of the thumb studs make it WAY easier to deploy than my AD10 (with which I get too many partial openings). Buuuuut not quite as easy as that big hole in my Yoj.

I am gonna give it a few days but this one might end up in the safe and my Yojumbo might takes its spot back in my pocket.

Yea, I got lost with that too. Felt a lot like "am I right or am I wrong?"...... "YES!".

Now, ladies, don't make me send you to your rooms. :p

(And please don't call Gloria Steinem and report my offensive, politically incorrect, unwoke humor.)

I assume it is a full size Hogue Ritter, correct? If so, it has almost identical length as ZT0562 and just slightly lighter than the ZT. It is not a small folder at all. Sounds like you should get Cold Steel AD10 or if that is still too small or light, get Cold Steel 4Max or XL Recon 1.

Yea, it is definitely the "full size". That term seems to have changed over the years. My BM710 was gifted to me in 1999 (I think). Back then, THAT was a normal size knife.

I already have. Cold Steel AD10. I like it but it has flaws that drive me nuts. To be honest, I should have stopped buying anything right after my Yojumbo, thats a hard act to follow. Spyderco had blk/blk PM2's in stock (I only order directly from them) for ONE day. I probably would have like that more but I really felt I needed to add a cross bar lock to my rotation to make up for the BM710 that was being retired. I dunno, I not gonna condemn it to mothballs just yet. It will get its pocket time to prove itself :)

I will say - it seems to come out of the pocket quick and I haven't even gotten used to it yet. I do like that
