Is it me, or is Hogue great at the heat treat? I got a Hogue Ritter mini several weeks ago, I can get it super sharp and the best part it stays that way a long time. I've had 20CV knives before, they were good, but not this good.

I only own otf autos made by them in 154cm and s30v. they came with great bevels and edges and very sharp. seems to hold edge well for the steels they are. id say they do a good job from my very limited experience with them on 2 steels.

I have two Hogue folding knives. Ex01 in 3.5 drop point blade with aluminum handle. A 4 inch tanto with the g- mascus handles.

Heat treat seems to be on point on both blades of 154cm.

I really like my Hogue mini Ritter but I have heard mixed reviews. I know Tony at Everydaycommentary said that he thought the 20cv was run too soft or something and he experienced some edge rolling doing some menial cutting tasks. Not something that I have ever experienced in the year or so that I have had my mini Ritter but there have been some mixed reviews.

Hogue seems to not only have good heat treat, but also excellent fit and finish and attention to detail in general. I only own a few of their knives, but I hope they continue offering new models in various steels and with different locks. They are certainly an underrated company IMO.

Don't forget some of the best factory edges you can find out there. My mini ritter came with nearly a mirror polish edge from the factory. Just unheard of from any other production company in the game right now.

Recently got a Deka and mini Ritter, everything said is spot on. Excellent knives.

They just need to fix their pocket clips. The ones that come on the ritters are garbage. To long and to flexible. They offer no grip on pockets and just slip off with no resistance at all. I replaced mine with a lynch clip and its MUCH better now.

I have an Exploit OTF. Finest example of S30V I've experienced. One of the sharpest OTB knives I've owned. That hand honed edge is no joke. I agree the pocket clips are flimsy. I gave my cousin a Deka and he loves it.

I hate flimsy clips. I'm not sure if anyone makes an aftermarket clip for the Exploit though...

If Hogue made an able lock flipper I might be in trouble, er uh more trouble.

I don't know about Hogue HT but I do concur the bevels on the two Hogue Ritters that I received are on par with RHK and CRK. And yes - the clip has a big room of improvement.
