This stunning knife was awarded the prestigious International Blade Show's Overall Knife of the Year award. The blade is A-2 Carbon Steel for impact resistance and ease of sharpening in the field. The extremely functional striker hilts act as guards against incoming strikes, prying instruments that can save the blade against damage, raised areas for impact strikes and sharpened extensions for limited penetration techniques in control situations. Desidned as a full-on combat fighter and field knife, the ATAC features a nonconductive handle with a steel buttcap for hammering or impact strikes. Sheath included.

Features:

-Dieter Side Hilt™ - stops thumb and grip from moving forward over hilt and onto blade – provides pressure and striking point – enables greater control of blade for specialized cuts – provides control to use side of blade rather than cutting edge – serves as a retraction support – helps protect user’s grip from adversary’s weapon or obstructions – assists initial access of knife – enhances ability to control penetration depths of blade – acts as a pressure stop (contact point) when attaching the knife to a staff to make a spear– utilized as a snap-over lock retention system for sheath – utilized for pressure point and/or striking device.

-Striker Hilt™ – This revolutionary feature multiplies the force control options available to the user. Provides greater control of the knife blade for specialized techniques – ensures blade does not over-penetrate into target– enables a wide variety of limited penetration and impact striking techniques – assists centerline grip control – used for hooking and trapping weapons and body appendages – provides lashing points for spear – utility use as a prying mechanism for opening hasps, crates, packing straps, etc., and as a puncturing device for cans, tubing and inflatable objects – protects grip from an adversary’s attack – prongs provide fingerlike ability to grasp objects that might ordinarily be grabbed by the hands, while allowing the operator to maintain a firm grip on the knife – the unique angle of the prong and point allows the operator to dig, chip, scrape, set holes, mark, etch, etc. while saving the knife tip from damage.

-Grip Seal™ System – The combination of the Pommel-stop, 4-way expansive hilt, hilt traction ribs, knurled grips, finger grooves and “wing-walk” surfaces provide a sure and safe grip under any conditions and improve performance - handle has contrasting surface levels with anti-slip grip inserts.

-Extended pommel – Utilized for pressure points and strikes – helps protect median nerve and wrist

-Expanded hilt - Every CQD® knife has a larger-than-normal hilt area to better protect the users hand from impact and to improve the users control of the knife. The expanded hilt offers increased pressure point and striking capabilities.

-Non-reflective, resilient finish – strongest and most durable finish available, will stand up to years of aggressive training and hard use in the field or on the street– subdued finish (black or sliver) to prevent unwanted reflection

-Super-sharp blade serrations – optional on all CQD® knives, serrations on half of blade maximize cutting ability through rope, straps, etc.

-Double-edged modified-spear-point broadening blade – for greater strength and penetration capabilities– The bottom (main) edge of the knife is refined and very sharp for general cutting while the top edge is intentionally shaped to provide a limited cutting capability while providing greater force/pressure capabilities from the edge without causing unintentional cutting. The top edge is designed to cut soft, vital areas of the body. The bottom edge provides deeper penetration, swift and balanced cuts and maintains knife velocity. If needed, the knife has true bi-directional cutting capabilities.

-Lanyard hole – located in the steel pommel, provides a means for securing the knife to the operator/equipment or to a staff when creating an improvised spear

price: 300$

300$ for a piece of stamped metal and molded plastic.
I think I'll take two!

ya know, if you painted a dragon or a spider/scorpion on the side of the blade and a little decorative ribbon thru the lanyard hole that knife would kinda look like something i would pick up from a flea market for 14 bucks;) Looks like something Khan would try to poke Capt. Kirk with. Not my cup o' tea, anyway:)

in a " shady " convience store, down the
road, they had a few folders, one or two like
that, shuriken with folding blades , and crack pipes
in the display case. Just the thing to complement
the ol' KG9 I would think....... "bling".

skulls , it needs screaming skulls.......

Trishul decker guys.....do a search on this forum. ;)

Now you know what's more likely to show up in the free-for-all....;)

"hold your vomit till the end... "

Bad advice.

It's a respiratory hazard to laugh and puke at the same time.

The thing that strikes me about this is the fact that it won the Overall Knife of the Year award at Blade. While it isn't my kind of knife really I wouldn't go quite as far as to call it a bad knife. I think that for the most part Masters of Defense puts out some nice knives, made of good materials and try to be somewhat (not always a good thing) unique. That being said, of all the great, great knives at Blade I just can't see this being the number one pick. I just don't get it.

"i-directional cutting capabilities" - and black too. :barf:

just wait till my company daisy cutter forge (or my little pony works... havent decided yet) comes out :D:D

full line of the most vicious fighting knives youve ever seen, in pink, pastels, and color schemes youve never heard of that contain flowers and rainbows :D

no police officer or law inforcement agent will be able to take them seriously as a fighting knife or weapon :D:D

I thought that design had been out a couple of years.

It wouldn't be too bad a design if it didn't have the star trek spikes.

  (mmmmmm.... just a similar recurve, if you put a swedge on top, and scalloped out the back)

i thought it had been out for a while as well... i wil say that it does look like it has a very secure grip. i wouldnt want it as a utility knife, cause having a plain jain 5" knife is already a good way to get arrested if you get a leo with nothing else to do. carrying thats a good way to get shot on the spot :(

Er, My Little Pony Bladeworks is a registered trademark of Feltco Mfg. :D ;) -- see pg 3 of this thread

Email me if you're interested in a licensing agreement. I'm sure we can work something out.

The fascination with knives isn't exclusively an American thing, and I'm sure all the design details are valid (in their own ways) but for my money, I'd prefer something like a Fallkniven A2.
Call me a philistine if you want to...

I agree with you, Phil. ;)

There's one born every minute, isn't there?
What a silly knife design. Try using this piece for anything other than stabbing a bayonet dummy, and you're in trouble. Walter Mitty redux.
