Hole in knofe blade

Maurice, Phil. You guys be nice. I hear your thoughts and they are not pleasant. Let's just assume that he really wants to know.

The hole is for ease of opening, it facilitates one handed opening of a folder. A thumbstud serves the same purpose. Spyderco uses the perfect hole, and holds the trademark for it. Some other companies use different shapes.

That depends on what kind of hole you're referring to. Spyderco's hole is used to open the knife with one hand. Other companies have variations like oval cutouts. Small holes like on the Kershaw Whirlwind are purely decorative. Some are a trademark of the maker like Howard Viele's.

By the way, what's up with the double post? You have 2 threads on the same thing.

you read my mind. :D

the hole you see (typically on spyderco brand knives) are used to open the knife.

I'm going "out of the box" on this one...The small hole that you see is what is left when someone un-screws the thumb-stud from the blade, and doesn't reattach it. Otherwise, the previous answers will suffice.:).

PS...Hi Danelle, you are a FOX.:D.

a Fox? What're we on the Brady Bunch here? lol

Again..I repeat..then why oh why do I have no plans Saturday night!
