took apart my leek to lube and clean it and i noticed a perforation in the scale by the pivot. i concluded that the torsion bar was rubbing a hole in the side of the scale and wearing a hole in it.

No. The hole was there from the factory. I don't know when
Kershaw started milling that small hole, but the last few newer
models I have bought have had it fresh out of the box.

What's the BOD that's stamped on the blade?

It was a Nov 06 TiZDP Leek that I first noticed the hole.
I have 3 Ti Leeks and they all have the hole as well as a
few other variations. The CB Leek is one that comes to
mind as I took it apart as soon as i got it.

So, don't fret over it. It's normal and your Leek is just fine.

I did the same thing with the first scale I made for my bump. There's not much room in there and it's really easy for the milling to intersect.

My S110V Shallot has the same thing. I don't think it's a big deal, If you'd never taken the knife apart you never would have seen it. I just take any burrs off the hole so you don't end up with fragmens rattling around inside.
