Holes in my Blade??

I was just tearing down my Griptilian and noticed 3 very tiny holes, lined up in a row, in the tang, on the handle side of the pivot hole. If they weren't so small I'd guess maybe they were lube reservoirs.
Help me out here.

Iirc they are just used when manufacturing the blades in the factory.

From an old discussion, iirc, they are either fixturing holes for the production process (as Mo2 said) or steel type indications, if that blade was offered in different steels...
