After much waiting I got a plain edge Dodo (actually I ended up with 2 , one black, one blue). This knife is unreal. Blade geometry is new and exciting. It cuts superbly. Sharpest knife ever( I didn't think this kind of edge was possible, I hope I can sharpen it when it needs it). Perfect grip. Smooth as butter (almost as smooth as my BM axis). Much bigger than I imagined. I recently have been becoming more of a Spyderco convert, and this knife has raised the bar. I cannot say one negative thing about this knife. I actually like the lock (people have complained that it is hard to close). I may keep both of them (?).
My only question is will the spring loose its snap over time while closed. It almost seems that it should be stored open. If this knife came out in carbon fiber I may freak out:D . Thanks Spyderco. Peace, Josh

Storing open certainly can't hurt. Given the failure of a small number of Axis omega springs, that would not be unthinkable.

Maybe post this in the Makers/Spyderco forum where Sal Glesser himself is a mod. He almost always replies directly to questions of this sort.

Hi Josh. Thanx for the kind words, I'll let Eric know.

The springs are custom made in the US from the finest Ph steels available. I realize that the concept and lock are fairly new and only time will tell, but we are confident that they won't be a problem. There are also two srpings involved, each serves as a back-up for the other.
