You might think that this belongs in another forum but bear with me and I'll tie it in.....I think! I just received a large Crawford Kasper. I had traded for this knife the other day. It has a 4.0" blade and is a framelock. Lockup is flawless, and blade grinds are superb. Thin enough to ride flat and comfortable in your pocket, but thick enough to give you a handful of grip and to know that this is a heavy duty folder. So, what's this got to do with Spyderco? It's the HOLE!! This Kasper has the hole opener, which Pat pays a royality on for it's use, and it really gives the Kasper a whole different look...pun intended. I'll try and get a pic up for ya'll to check it out.

I thought you were speaking of the producion versions, and raised an eyebrow when you said it has a perfect lockup...
if you're telling about custom ones, well that's totally different, and with a spyderhole it should be great too. do you have pics?

If I remember correctly, Sal has one of those "holey" Crawford KFFs in his collection. I wonder if it has the Spyderedge too?

Hey Art, Nice score. When you get bored with it and decide to sell it for some rediculously low price, er I mean very fair price please let me knowfirst;-)>

Sam.....you know me too well! Btw, I'll have the cqb heading your way this PM.

very nice! I have a Large KFF pro (dark grey), but I find it too bulky to EDC.
I used to do so, but now I have my Caly Jr (clipless, on lanyard) and fell in love (again) with SAKs, I just can't go backwards :p

I'm just waiting for the ugly burgundy Caly Jr to replace mine on EDC. It doesn't see that much use, but I just like the idea of having an even better knife :D

I wasn't aware that Sal had one of the Kaspers. Maybe Pat made him a special one to take care of the holes!! :D

without a name on it, I would have thought it was the next spyderco...
really nice, how about a futur collab? :)

Pat and I go back 25 years. (I joined the Knifemakers Gujild in '79).

I asked Pat and Wes to make one for me many years ago. Mine has a G-10 handle.

The design is quite excellent, but was being made by another company (without the hole). So Pat offers the "holey" version to his custom customers.

pat makes some great stuff, imho he is as good as anybody around, have 3 of his knives (ti kasper, perfigo, micarta kasper) and have had great luck with all of them, pats a great guy to deal with also who really stands behind his products...

did notice last week all his stuff went up about $50 per item, i guess because his std steel now is S30V. still very much worth the $$.

How about a Spyderco/Crawford Perfigo collaboration or the other one too (Perseko). These two customs look totally awesome and they would be even cooler as Spyderco collaborations.

Whaddya think Sal?

and the pics are back.................
