My Godson who is serving in Iraq, came home for the holidays. I showed him a few pieces from the collection and his eyes lit up. I asked what he was carrying these days and he shows me a $25 knife that I won't mention the brand of since I wasn't impressed in the least.
I sent him back to Iraq with a Benchmade cub in ATS34 and before he went out the door I gave him my Benchmade 160 neck knife. If the kid would have hung around any longer I might not have much of the collection left.
Sad these days they don't have great equipment to use. I have a few
blades in my collection and most of them sit on a shelf so I can say that I have them. I am betting that there are many of you that are the same way. If you have family that is in harms way you can help out by donating a shelf paperweight to the cause. No I don't think that they need your Busse blades, but solid stuff that isn't going to break you and will serve them in well in order. Think about a donation to family or friends. I think that the look on his face was well worth the small donation. Something to think about - that's all.
