Hollow Grind Slicey Recommendations Pleaese

Just got the Air Lite today and I am going to return it. Overall the knife is very nice but I prefer knives that have better cutting performance. This one is fairly thick behind the edge. I also prefer a lanyard hole if possible. Which Cold Steel knives have a hollow grind or thinner edge (cutting performance is a must) and lanyard hole (not a must have). Thick stock and edge are not needed as I use my knives for cutting and if another tools is needed for prying, I use another tool. Any recommendations?

American Lawman Gen 1, or 2 ... if you can get your hands on one.

AD-10 is a good option also and may be easier to source...

These models have a nice high hollow grind and slice like nobody's business, but with the sabre-like flat still are hearty enough to not to have to be fussy with hurting them...a good balance imho...oh and they have lanyard holes too...happy hunting

Thank you. So I am assuming that there is nothing in currrent production. Thanks again for your response.

No problem, I have the same philosophy about slicers! :)

I just bought an American Lawman off the Exchange yesterday...they come up fairly often.

They're both for sale on the big auction site and they're priced pretty decently to boot.

True. I was going to suggest an early XHP hollow grind Recon 1, but that's probably more difficult to find than the AL.

Hopefully Cold Steel will lean back in the hollow grind direction for at least some models.

I thought the early AD10s were hollow but the later ones flat? Might be worth verifying one you are after is hollow ground before committing.

S8nce someone mentioned the AD10, I believe BladeHQ has the AD10 on sale for a ridiculously low price right now. I am not sure how I feel about it as a slicer, as I have never really used mine enough to form an opinion.

My personal recommendations for a slicey tool would be the Hold Out, the Drop Forged Hunter (if you want a fixed blade), or perhaps the Tuff Lite.

I want to get a Tuff Lite just to see how well it slices leather, hehe. May have to thin the edge a bit though.

At the risk of being tared & feathered, Spyderco makes so many slicey knives, for tactical and heavy duty blades CS wins though. I might add that the Spydie's are usually shorter bladed for making you local LEO's happy. I have both for their own virtues. I carry an XL Voyager most times, slices just fine for me.

Yeah, the Para 3 is plenty slicey. Although I wouldn’t stab a meat-filled boot with it or rip open a garage door.

On any folding knife, I prefer lockbacks, in particular mid-locks.

I also like for there to be a considerable amount of travel before the lock disengages. I want it to have to be a deliberate move to disengage the lock.

TriAD lock system ticks all my boxes, pair it with a high hollow ground blade and it's perfection for me...hence, my suggestion of the CS AL.

I m not sure if any of the current production folders are hollow ground. Many of the high flat ground blades are still relatively thin behind the edge and very slicey.
I agree with the above post that the Holdout, with its high flat grind, is extremely slicy. I also get good slicing from my Ultimate Hunter, better than the slicing from the current flat ground AD10. I think the flat ground American Lawman and Recon1 still do a good job with slicing as flat ground blades.
amp, if you re ok with a 3 inch blade the small Holdout will do a good job for you.
