Hollow Grinding Club

I figured I'd try to hollow grind a blade today, just for kicks. Everyone is always saying how easy it is. I was doing it really fast, nothing I intended on actually making into a knife. Well I joined the elite club of those who ground completely through to other side on their first hollow grind! Geez, you really gotta watch that huh? Just a liiiiiiiiittle bit thinner, was way too thin. I think I'm putting the platen back on tonight!

check out rob frink's hollow grinding calculator on beaumontmetalworks.com
it'll show you how high to take a grind on a given thickness of stock for a specific diameter grinding wheel. it a damn good guideline

Can you be a little more specific on the link to that calculator? I rooted around for a ehile on beaumont metalworks.com and couldn't find it.
