I’ve been in to Buck knives for over 50yrs.
My Dad introduced me to them.As of late I purchased a new 301 and I have to say the quality is good the fit and finish is good but I don’t really care for the hollow grind they use.The hollow grind on the 700 series was better as far as I’m concerned. It seems like the grind isn’t high enough.I guess the blade profile is a bite short maybe?I think flat grind or more like the 700 series grind.Just my opinion I like every else.Does anyone else think the new 300 series grind is odd?

Seems like this gets rehashed every once in awhile. A search may find some older discussions.
I think Buck used the flat grind until about 96 or 97. (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
I have no personal opinion pro or con but I'm sure many other here do and will surely chime in.

I like the hollow grinds on my 300 series. I have the older 425m with flat grind also and they are okay but my hollow grind 420hc does as well or better for most tasks. There’s sometimes the flat grind is better so I switch back and forth depending on what I’m doing. If I had a choice I think I’d like a mixed grind knife with the main clip blade and spay blade hollow and the sheep foot flat grind. Then I’d have the best of both. Lol
