I have surfed everywhere on the web trying to find stats on the depth, and lenghth of the hollow handle of the 7" Project I. I personally like the hollow handle aspect. I realize some feel it is a waste to count on stuff in a little handle but I say better to have something than nothing.

My Question:
HOW BIG is the inside of the handle??? Is the pommel end also hollow? What is the total space in inches inside the handle with the cap on, lenghth wise????????
How Big is the diameter of the hole? Does it taper near the blade/hand guard?

I am trying to plan a survival kit for it but....I need to know how much space it contains. Anne, anyone....help me out!!!

Can I fit many little things in it? How about a photon light and/or a little Swiss Army Knive plus more little things (needles, matches, hooks)

I'd appreciate comments as well as actual measurements (in inches) so I can plan just what to put in the handle.

Thanks!

Here is an interesting thread (from the archives):

It has some discussion of the interior handle size of the one piece Chris Reeve knives, along with what fits in the hollow handle. By the way, anyone interested in the one piece line would probably find the thread of interest. :D

Interior handle size information would certainly be a nice supplement to the FAQ here:
http://www.chrisreeve.com/faq.html

Since the discussion in that thread I have opened a Photon Micro-Light and the only metal one would see if the sides were sanded, would be the battery, so trying to make one fit, would not be a good idea. There may be some similar lights that would fit. I do not know what the size of the Photon Micro-Light III is, but if it takes the same batteries, it would not fit.

Hope this helps.
