Hollow ?

I am about to do my first serious hollow grind. This will be going to my cousin in Afganistan if it comes out good. Question is what is the maximum hieght of a hollow cut on a 8in wheel,measured from cutting edge towards the spine?? Thanks for any help! SBS.

Depends on the thickness. Normally about 3/4". Somebody used to have a chart but I can't find a copy of it. Maybe one of the makers still has it.
