Holster compatability question

I am looking for a economical (not custom) vertical leather shoulder holster to fit a S&W 1006. This is the same approximate size and dimensions as the 4506. The problem is most companies like Galco, Bianchi, and DeSantis don't seem to make these holsters specifically for the big S&W autos.

Looking around in a few other places I found leather holsters that supposedly fit the 1006 as well as the Beretta 92 and Taurus PT92. I have the option of ordering a shoulder holster for the PT92 and getting a .45 ACP mag carrier, which I think should work. Can anyone confirm that the 1006 or 4506 will fit in a holster designed for the Beretta 92 or Taurus PT92?

Thanks.

Okay. Can anyone with a 1006 or 4506 tell me what other holster types are compatible? The Beretta 92 and Taurus PT series seem quite a bit narrower than the Smiths.

Simply Rugged has that model listed to custom mold on their Cuda holster.I was having a very hard time finding a holster for a 3in Ruger SP101.Found a thread on a gun forum that said Simply Rugged made them.I ordered one of their Silver Dollar pancake holsters and could not be more happy with it.A heck of a value for 45.00,very thick leather. The site says 2 to 3 weeks for delivery but it was 5 days from placing my order til the holster shipped.

I don't have specific answers for you as far as interchangeability, but I can recommend a good company for holsters. It is High Noon and they make two lines, one deluxe and one basic.

I have the basic no frills shoulder holster for my Glock 19 and it is perfect in fit and finish. It goes very well with the Glock, as it is as basic a handgun as there is.
