Holster help with a S&W Model 36

I just picked up a like new in box and papers 1960's Smith and wesson model 36 2" chiefs special in .38 special (not +P) it is AMAZING I never liked wheel guns untill this one, well I need a holster for it, I was thinking an IWB with a sweatguard to protect me from the hammer, any advice?

This is a J-frame revolver but there were two versions if I remember correctly. If I remember correctly there was a square butt and a round butt. It probably won't make a difference with holsters but just in case, its something to keep in mind. That size is ideal for inside the belt type holsters. Very easy secure carry with little show. Also, check with Smith, I think they made replacement hammers for them without the spur. Back in the day, it was not uncommon for people to lope them off. Cutoff tool and some careful file work. I'm not definitely not suggesting that be done with one that is all original though. :eek: They use to have very nice case hardening on the hammers.

Good find. Smiths from that era had crisp letoffs and actions like glass.

Long wait and definitely not cheap, but worth both.
Galco or Kramer not quite as nice, but would hold you over.
