Really want to add one of these to my edc cycle . Have done a bunch of reading/YouTubing but still cannot decide on which one of these to try and buy.

Currently switching between cheburkov scout/large sebenza 31 and grimsmo noresman (dislike the blade shape) love the way it carries in pocket and action. Also thinking about turning the noresman blade into a drop point or something close.

Knife will be used and abused on a daily basis just looking for some feedback from anyone who owns and edc’s a holt/arius or rask .

Thanks in advance !

I have both holt models and like them both. The haptic is more of a utility blade and the specter is more elegant. I stayed away from the arius due to the bulbous blade profile. Everyone always rants and raves about them but I think they look about as attractive as a manatee. I like the look of the rask but have never played with one. Personally I like the specter the most but I would definately recommend a haptic if you want to beat on it. They are way more reasonably priced on the secondary than the specters too! Good luck with the descision.

I'd say be happy with whichever one you can actually get your hands on. They're all pretty much unobtainium. Lottery, wait list, or right place/right time should get you one eventually.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on an Arius a couple of years back (right place, right time). In my opinion it's worthy of the hype. Refined, but still very usable.

Thanks for your opinion and info! Do you happen to have a wicked edge sharping system ? Looking at the haptic it worries me a little if I can get it clamped down properly to sharpen .

I had a Haptic, found the liner would sometimes disengage if I squeezed the knife too hard while pressing down on blade with my thumb. So for what its worth, get something in a frame lock would be my recommendation.

I use a KME. Not sure how the WE would be as I haven't used one.

I have two v4 Specters and used to have a v3. They’re really great knives. They sell for way too much money on the secondary. I tried for one year entering every lottery I could and I could never get one at table price. Finally broke down and bought them for secondary pricing. After I got one though, I just couldn’t bring myself to use it. They just sit in the safe. I’m thinking about selling one and using the money to get a less expensive Shiro and a Strider; something nice but not so nice I don’t want to use it.

Koenig Arius is equally an excellent knife. Can’t really go wrong with either but if you like big knives, Arius is the way to go. If you want something a bit slimmer and easier to carry in the pocket, Specter is what you want.

But you really have to ask yourself, if you spend the money on either of those models, will you use them or be like me?
