This seemed like the most appropriate place to post this. Has anyone ever come across a frog like this? It's gorgeous.

Next question: has HI ever put out any frogs like this?

That's the frog that most WWII era kukris came with. That's looks like a brand new example of one.

That is sweet! Looks like what Ive heard some call Sam Browne style. Ive seen them used for sword frogs mainly. I have one on a Kumar Karda but nothing as elaborate as that one. I do like them.

Theres a couple buckles on the back but it is HI.

I can't really tell by the pics, but to me it looks like the karda and chakmak are a part of the frog with this set-up as opposed to being integrated as part of the sheath. I kind of like that idea. I might see about having something like this made and update it with a modern sharpener and utility knife. Hmm... hmm, I say.

That's correct, the Karda and chakmak are stored in the frog.

The BAS I bought last fall for a friend had a similar frog, with the two straps, although the front of the sheath was standard HI style. I'm not sure if the strappy things (are they both frogs, or is the whole thing a single frog?) were vertical or diagonal, as in this example.

With the Kukri I have now, the frog is basically glued to the sheath (not removable) and the karda and chakmak are integrated in to the sheath. Are the HI frogs separate from the sheath?

Yep, makes it nice for lefties such as I of whom can simply flip the frog around and I can feel normal.

I'm partial to Pugs style myself. The angle on the first one doesn't make sense, it's beautiful and very well done but the straps should be square to the belt.

I think Wildman did some frogs too if my memory is working at all, maybe not but I think so.
