Okay, I'll post a picture of the back of the swedge soon, (it is indeed thinner)
But let me ask this of all of you 1/6 owners that are reading this.
Is the swedge shorter than the other 1/300 BMs?
The one that I have has a shorter swedge, not by much......
Eyeballing it I'd have to say it's a 1/4 of an inch shorter, but the others seem consistant.
(one that I have seems slightly longer, like 1/16, but I think it's just a mutant and nothing particularly special)

Ok, lets see the pic.
Oh and how about a group shot of all the SHBM's.
A comparison shot of the different swedge's would be great.
Thanks WM.

I have seen significant swedge variation in some Busse models, especially the pre-CNC models, and would not be surprised if the difference you refer to is just normal variation.

My three standard Clip Point Desert Natural Outlaws all have a noticably different swedge length, plus each one has a different spine treatment (double cut, polished spine and handle edges, and polished spine with coated handle edges.)

The best comparisons can be found at Badmojo.tv.
But I will post a few together tomorrow, when it's not so dagonne late.
(my scanner is just short enough to be a pain when scanning BMs....... fine for SHs.... but I love them big boyz!)

Yes... but I'm better at using the scanner! It's easier and faster!
And is REALLY great for close ups.

Come on, Skunk. Post the rest of them. ;)

Love them Mistresses. :D

On all of the Straight handled Battle Mistresses the false edge top grinds were done by hand.

For the most part differences are by group done at one time.

I call it the "CBL or Better" Difference.

Call it "Bench Front" differences if you like.

I have the second one from the left with the thin false edge almost rounded off as it appears. Skunk has one as well. WM, you have one and who else has one. I am sure there are more than 6.

I do I do.

Maybe Fakeducci did a little grinding.....
Okay... Pic incoming!
CRAP!!!!!! scanner isn't working right!
ARRRGGGHHHH!

I was told Six by Jerry back just after I sold my first one(yup still ticks me off to remember the "Learning Curve") Back in 2000 or maybe early 2001.

Six that were false sharpened all the way to the edge then coated.

But we all got to remember that he drinks, so he might not remember six, eight or ten.

Hell, "I Drink", that's why I took alot of notes, got CRS or is it CRD? Can't remember Details?

That makes a lot of sense! It's common knowledge (or almost) that the first 300 is just a guess as well..... so why shouldn't the first 6!
