I bought Lansky system about 6 months ago---but didn't break it out until today. It always seemed such a chore with all the wires--clamp--oil and such---so I always seemed to put off breaking it out and learning the system.

I had been getting by with a cheap Gerber pull thru keeping my EDC's reasonably sharp---or so I thought.

The Lansky got even the ones I had given up on shaving sharp.

I also kept reading about the Spyderco Sharpmaker here---so with all the success with the Lansky---I ran out to the local emporium and bought a Sharpmaker---its getting them even sharper than the Lansky did.

Now even my drawer queen beaters are showing their ugly faces again.

Sharpening is fun when they actually get sharp----rather than an exercise in futility as it usually has been.

I highly recomend both systems.

Oh ya---my arm is getting bald due to all the "testing":D

Welcome to the addiction. Remember, there is always leg hair, belly hair, neck hair after the arms run "dry".:D

The next level, and it can be done with both your Lansky and your Sharpmaker, is to get your knives sharp enough to split hair on your arm merely by touching the hair. You'll also be able to whittle noggin hair (take it from combs; don't chase down loved ones like that mouse who kept pulling whiskers from the cat to restring his guitar). It'll double the amount of available arm hair.
