Holy COW!

It's a great model and I've wanted one for a while but it isn't new to the lineup. The CQC-12HD has been in production since 2004
 
Why is that knife so expensive? Is it larger than a Super Commander, for example? The MRC is significantly higher.
 
The Ti framelock is the reason for the price. The HD7 is similar in price. Also it's closer to the size of a standard Commander
 
I never understood the high price either.
At 3 bills, these HD framelocks would have shot out the door.

No, I didn't order one. No more for me till next year with x-mas coming.

Had no idea they been around that long, just saw them in the discontinued area and that they are in stock.
 
Yeah, Emerson crew found a box of blades and bit in the back of the shop and decided to finish them. They were made available last year. I believe the earlier production run ended in 2006. One of my favorite blades from EKI.

I completely agree, I only bought mine because I got it brand new in the box for $290 & I even feel that was a little high. Great knife however, the thin light feel of these knives are awesome.

I really like G10 on both sides of my knife handle but my HD7 always ends up in my pocket.
