Not sure if this should be here or kitchen cutlery.

I for some reason have taken a real interest in fillet knives. I want to find some really good old ones as well as find a really good modern one.

All of you other fisherman out there, what is the holy grail of fillet knives? What should I look for at the markets and garage sales?

Anyone use the buck 126 Alaskan guide fillet knife?

Phil Wilson's Fillet Knives are regarded as the best or one of the best in the world, Mine here. :)

Rapala sells a fillet board and fillet knife set. The knife is a J. Marttiini. Probably not a grail set but it works great.

You'll have to excuse the really crappy picture with the really crappy unfinished sheath, but my James Terrio fillet knife is quite nice. 7.5 inch Elmax blade, green micarta handle.

I have been eyeballing a Opinel folding filet knife for the last couple of weeks.

About to order one myself soon as well. #15. After that I want a buck Clearwater. The actual Rapala made in Finland fillet knives are affordable. My local sporting goods store usually has a sale of 20% rapala gear. The knife itself is usually $22

I second the Phil Wilson fillet knife as he's a legend in custom cutlery.
I've read good things about the Buck 126 and the Clearwater. DM
