Got an email this morning from KnifeArt. New Fantoni HB 01 Harsey Design LE CPM S125V blade! This is the first I've seen of S125V being used in a knife. I've heard its difficult to process and machine. Should be interesting to see how it performs.

Should be fine at he 61-62 RC they are saying it is.

Love harsey designs. The edge observer did a solid review on said knife. Have a look.

Does somebody have a picture?

I like Harsey designs, and am very glad I was able to buy this one when Beretta were selling them at a fraction of the current price (in s30v, of course). Would love it even more if they extended the lower guard into a flipper.

I'm not sure if I'm happy that this wasn't available when I had enough money available to buy it, or if I am pissed that I could have bought that knife instead of this computer.

What properties do we expect CPM S125V to have compared to S30V? What are the benefits, what are the trade-offs? Especially considering the fact that Fantoni seems to produce both steels in the same hardness @ 61-62.

I'm guessing more wear resistance than even S110V.

My buddy has this knife, but its #3 out of 100 so he doesn't use it lol. In fact, I think he might be selling it. Its a really nice knife. Definitely bigger in person than it seems in the pics.

This is the second batch. The Fantoni HB 01 Harsey is the best tactical ever made, IMO, but the $550 pricetag for a boutique steel is too steep.

They still make that version. That's their production version and this is the custom. The production is a smaller knife in addition to the differences in material (and price lol)

Well this thread opened my eyes to the hb01. I'm always looking for that perfect large knife. I just purchased one, but I had to go for the s30v. I'm not sure I could pay almost $300 more strictly for a steel upgrade.

S125V is so Wednesday. Here on Friday, we've moved on to S130V.

All jokes aside, that knife is sexy!

I may be misunderstanding what you're saying about the differences between the S30V and S125V model sizes, but they are pretty much exactly the same except for the blade steel (and as you mentioned, price). Being rather stuck on Fantoni knives (no pun intended), I have both models. Maybe you're thinking of the smaller HB02? Mike

Oh, and congratulations K.O.D.!

Let me know what you think. I am eyeing the HB01 myself as I find my current line up of EDC blades too small. But even the S30V version is expensive.

Hmmm could be. I know we were looking at the differences between the production and custom model before my friend bought his. One major difference aside from steel was it was slightly smaller

The knife is a nice design, and I'd love to try the steel. And my computer is junk...
