"HOLY SNIKEYS"-Sebenza Jackpot

Wow. No kidding. Mnandis for any color dress - the ebony one looks great with a tux. And all those decorated Sebenzas. And a small woodie in Left handed!

Jeeze, I was just there once today, but the sites has been updated since, I guess I have to check twice a day.

Dave,

Somehow I think you'll be kept up to date in a more timely manner, in the future!:D

I just noticed something kind of funny about the "New Sebenza's" at TrueNorth. Just about all the new large and small Seb's just posted have the older style thumb serrations. Check em out.

I have several Seb's in my collection right now that I've owned for almost a year with the newer style. Maybe the blades for those posted were cut a long time ago? Even the Damascus Seb's on the site have the old. No big deal, even though I prefer the newer style serrations, they both work. I'm just wondering if Chris and Anne decided to go back to the older style? I know many people prefered them. :(

I don't know. But I did call when I received a LE with the new style serrations and mentioned that I didn't like them.

Also I got on TNN "what's new" email. has that been around a while? Because I sent Neil email a couple of months ago about he should start a service like that.

Hey Dave, how's it going? Just curious, what it is about the larger serrations that you don't like? i.e. looks, feel, both? I do like them quite a bit more than the old. Easier to keep clean for one. ;)

New style serrations provide less traction as they are more rounded, almost close to useless.

Hi All,

Glad you like the new knives.

The "email newsletter" has been an integral part of TNK-True North Knives since this revised website was introduced in October of 2001. It is an "opt in only" service and totally secure. Although new knives are added regularly (daily), the newsletter only goes out once every month or so. New knives are first posted in the makers/company gallery and not always on the "New Items" page.

The wider serrated thumb ramp was introduced by Chris to dealers at the SHOT Show in Orlando in early 2003. Ultimately, it was not as warmly accepted as anticipated by "users". For a while, in late 2003 and thru 2004 many of the knives had this newer feature, but the decision was made at CRK to go back to the previous thumb ramp during the summer of 2004. The reason for this was a result of customer feedback and preference to the older style by the majority. In my opinion, the previous traditional ramp, with the thinner serrations, gives my thumb more grip.

I hope everone has a nice holiday weekend.

Take care, Neil

Thanks for the low down on the Seb's Neil. And glad to see such a fantastic display of them on your website. Keep em coming. ;)

Thanks for the story, Neil. The old style thumb serrations are much better.

Good grief, look at those Mnandis!!! The Box Elder, Camel Thorn and Mesquite Burl models are particularly gorgeous. It's a good thing I haven't gotten dressed for the day given the amount of drool that just got on my clothes. I really do need to wear a bib when I come to the CRK forum. :o :D ;)

Anyone who wants traction in a thumbstud look no further than Bob Dozier's custom folders. Extraordinary traction. Can stop a semi from rolling down a hill.
