I whacked it off. It was too difficult to sheathe so I made it more my own.
I love the handle so much that I wanted to carry it every day and now I can.

Yeah, I have posted some of my home mods - but they tend to be butt jobs, scale profiling, thumb ramps, choils, etc.
That said, and coincidentally (or is it?), I did pretty much destroy a Sus Scrofa, myself, in similar but less-successful fashion - and regret it to this day. I love the Sus Scrofa, so it has been replaced several times over. Yet the sting of that one loss remains.
Dave, it was nowheres nearly as skillfully rendered as yours (nice job, BTW, though it loses what I think is so special about the Sus Scrofa in the process).
Timmy, mine looked a bit more like yours, but again, mine was a total fail (unlike yours). Glad you like the fruits of your labors. Hey, function over form, always. That said, if you like the new profile, but would not mind her prettied up a bit, I am sure Josh at REK could do wonders. If you think she is beautiful as is, or don't care, good on ya'!
I did see a really fantastic home mod of a Sus Scrofa once that I admired a lot. It was re-profiled into a sheepsfoot - so it started out nearly there. It looked factory-fresh. Beautiful. I love a good sheepsfoot (see my love for my much-used Randall Cattleman) so I have been pulling for a Buss/kin sheepsfoot release ever since. Still waiting, of course!

Great tutorial, Dave. Thanks. I have never had a Meaner Street or Active Duty, and from casual observation of them pictured separately I had never really seen or noticed the differences from each other and from the Sus Scrofa.
I have a Custom Shop Sus Scrofa with a round butt and talon like pictured above. I like it better that way and have been thinking of modding my stock Sus Scrofa to match it there.
