Whats up everyone!

I am going to try out some anodizing this weekend, who here has tried it? Ive read a few places that all it takes is a battery charger, some sulfuric acid, and some RIT dye....

I have developed this nasty habit of buying a knife and immediately doing some sort of mod :)

I plan to buy an S30V Kershaw Blur, strip the scales and anodize them (color? probably a real grey/blue) and then acid etch and stone was the blade.
This weekend ill be trying out the anodizing on some scrap 6061 Al pieces.

I have nothing to offer, but I'd sure like to see some pics when you're done. I have a lot of experience with *paying* for custom aluminum anodizing, but haven't tried it myself. Yet.

I have a stack of 9v batteries for some ti that I have. I like the idea of ti ano simply because you don't need any dyes. Not sure what my method will do, but I have some ti aircraft fasteners to try it on first.

Ti anodizing is lots of fun and doesn't have to be expensive. Here is a link, with photos, to the bath style telling you how to anodize Titanium: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/804086-DIY-9v-battery-Titanium-anodizer

To anodize using the paint/swab simply replace the bath with a qtip or paintbrush wet with your favorite solution, diet soda for example, and paint on your anodization.
