Home brew electrolyte recipes?

Does anyone have recipes for Electro-etch electrolytic solutions? I'm close to gathering what I need for my homebuilt etcher and am looking for an electrolyte formula for etching 1095. Vinegar, salt water and copper sulfate come to mind. Suggestions? Advice to prevent accidental death or dismemberment?

I have done fine on stainless with table salt and baking soda for the neutilizer.

Michael, tell me more about this "homebuilt" etching machine. I may want to give myself a jolt or two. LarryD

Plain table salt and water works well. Copper sulfate and water also work.
