The deal spotting paracord thread below reminded my that I had purchased some of this junk, and I should warn you about it.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-1-8-in-x-50-ft-Paracord-in-Blue-12745/203602882
Performance:
I picked it up thinking it would make a good utility cord. It doesn't. The cord is very stiff and very slippery. The inner core kinks easily, and there were already two kinked spots when I opened the package. Square knots, clove hitches, and single and double sheetbends spontaneously untie themsleves. It held a double fisherman's bend, and I suspect would hold carrick bends and flemish bends as well.
Construction:
The package noted poly and poly blends, so it's mostly polypropylene. The stiffness and slickness of the cord is consistent with this. The outer sheath is a standard 32 strand braid. The core was a single, very think, loosely twisted, 3 strand twine. Each strand appeared to be a bundle of small diameter monofilaments. This is not 7 strand commercial paracord. When the core was removed, the sheath was very pliable, slightly thinner then gutted commercial paracord.
Overall:
Avoid.
EDIT: IMHO, The 1/4" braided nylon rope is much better suited as utility cord and makes for a prettier knotting as well. My preference for decorative paracord is the GI Plus (Rothco) nylon commercial cord.
