Just wanted to show this off a bit and see what yal think, my dad made 2 of these I got one and he kept the other they are both identical. The main purpose for them is chopping, knowing what I do now the blade grind could definitly be brought back closer to the spine but it still chops pretty good.

Here are the specs

Steel: L6 hardened to 59-61Rc Black Oxide finish
Blade Length: 9"
OAL: 15"
Width: 1 5/8"
Thickness: .258"
Weight: 27.73oz
Handles are Aluminum painted with krylon
Sheath is kydex made by Red Hill Sheaths

Heres the Knife

And just because I wouldn't feel like a man if I didn't post pics of it laying on a gun.....:D

Sweet knife, especially for "home made". L6, impressive! The grind could be higher, yet plenty of hard use knives are meant to be thick like that, depends on the use I guess.
It can always be thinned out, in the future. I do like the look, kinda Busse/Horton style with a tanto point, and I like the diamond pattern on the handle scales. What are those scales made from?

Scales are Aluminum painted with krylon may try and get them anodized in the future the paint was just a cheap easy solution at the time.

Looks very much like a tops knife to me. Like the tops anaconda 9, tanto version. Looks nice though. I had an anaconda in the hunters point version but I didnt like the finger groove in the handle. Maybe you like it.

Wow your right it does look a lot like it, funny thing is we didn't really design it after anything else thats just how it ended up, the handle was made with our hands in mind so it feels very good to me a person with smaller fingers may not like it as much.

Ill have to ask my dad if he looked at any while he was drawing it up but we went through quite a few design changes a long the way, changed it from a spear point to a tanto simply because it was easier to machine, handle went from being strait with a D guard to what it is now because I simply didn't like it. Some of the smaller details may have come from that knife though I'll have to find out tomorrow.

I stand corrected guys he told me the final design was influenced by the ron hood knife, sorry it has been about 3 years since he made them and I only remembered being asked for my input along the way and that the final knife was much different then the first few versions he had drawn up. :foot:
