So I decided to see if my rocket stove could boil water and it can. It is made of 3 tin cans. You can cook on top of it and boil water and create warmth. Cheap to make and fun to use

Here is the Becker I used

Here it is starting bubbles at 15 mins with small bubbles at the bottom

Next time I will cook some eggs or a stir fry

Seems like it would be faster than 20 mins. My trangia does it in like 10mins. Not criticizing. Just saying, there might be something amiss.

The outside can is a # 10 can which I got from a big can of boiled peanuts. the center can was from a bushes baked beans. The can in the side was from asparagus.

With the large can you put about a inch of sand in the bottom of the late can

Then cut both ends of the asparagus can off and trace the end onto the side of the large can about a half inch above the sand

Cut out the traced mark on the large can and then set in the bushes can in the large can keeping in the sand and make sure it's centered in the can and with the hole you cut out trace the same size hole into the bushes can then jut out the part you traced and place it back into the big can.

Next put the asparagus can through both holes about a half inch into the bushes can

Put sand around the bushes can about a inch from the top of the big can this acts like a insulator

With the lid from the big can cut out the center the same size as the bushes can and slide it on top and cut about 4 1 inch tabs on the top of the big can and fold them over this hold the top down so the sand doesn't fall out and air space for cooking with a pan on top.

If the bushes can is even with the top of the big can it needs to be trimmed about a half inch or put less sand in the bottom of the big can

Sorry if this confused you I'm not good at explaining things

Might have been less but I was sitting and watching and didn't have a timer on me

This is the stove i made. Used 2 pop cans and sourced the pot at a dollar store, made the handle from some rod laying around and the flask is for the isopropynol fuel. It all fits inside the pot and it will boil 1 cup (250ml) of water in 5 mins. It's more of a survival stove. Here's the pics, sorry no action shots.

Sorry accidentally posted twice

Great, now we gotta beat the shit outta ya.

Trade, take him back behind the wood shed. Give him the rubber hose.

Remember, we're doing this for your own good.

Next time, you get Dubz and the lead pipe. Watch those double taps.

:D

20 min boil time? Seems a bit slow. My alcohol stove boil at 6 mins, my Northern Lights Ti brings it in at 3 mins.

But, that is a cool ass design.

The time might be less it was like watching paint dry. My g/f had my phone/timer

Gotcha.

I think, as most material stoves go, I would guess about 8-10 mins max.

Like I said, I love that design. And good work, BTW.

I made quite a few stoves over the years, the ones I like the most, alcohol pop can stoves. I made a bunch for christmas one year, gave them away. So far, they are all going strong. And run off just about anything that is more than 40 proof. Everclear works very well, but fuel line de icer works best.

I made a material stove out of a tomato soup can, and a wire clothes hanger. Had a bottom feed slot, and a grill on the top. I liked that one the most for a material stove, but you were limited to small twigs 5-6" in length, so, you had to constantly feed the beast. But you could cook a full pot of food on it.

I'll see if I can find some pics, I know I don't have it now, it rusted to pieces on my front porch. willis should have some pics of his alcohol stove I made for him.
