Home Titanium anodizing.

I read this thread on EDCF and decided to try it out with two of my friends. Our results were less than we expected. I used my Tasman's clip (which I know to be Ti) and eventually torched it. The torch job made some great colors, but we were going for consistancy and a range of control. Has anyone ever tried this before, and if so, what are some of the pitfalls to look out for? I'm KeyGrip on EDCF, so you can read my posts to get an idea of our set up. Thanks for the help.

I've only used heat to color , doesnt work as well as the results in the first thread.
