And drink.

Anyone around here brew up their own adult beverages? I just recently started. First round I did a batch of mead that turned out suprisingly well considering the slap-together method and supplies I used.

About a month and a half ago my girlfriend picked me up a Mr. Beer homebrew kit, to start my beer adventure. After weeks of staring at that keg-shaped fermenter I finally got to give it a try. Came out absolutly exceptional.

So, does anyone have any homebrew recipies that are above average? I'm particularly interested in wine, beer, and rum, but good whiskey can't be bad either.

Been there and done that but don't anymore. :(

What bottles are you putting your brew into?

Why I ask is that the many Aussie's (who would have guessed???) use the P.E.T. plastic pop/soda bottles instead of glass bottles.

Properly cleaned and sterilized and re-used only once with its original screw on plastic top, the large 2 liter bottles called Darwin Stubbies Downunder, make good non-breakable containers and lessen the need to keep getting up to go to the fridge during the football game. :D

I have a glass Growler from DuClaw that I use as well as two plastic 2-Liter soda bottles. They actually work really well.

I make hard cider. It's the quick bread of adult beverages, IMO. Virtually impossible to mess up.

My BIL started w/ Mr. Beer and loves it. Just had a new batch at Xmas.

About any of the recipes in The New Joy of Homebrewing is worthy. Esp Barkshack Gingermead, Goat Scrotum Ale, and Rocky Racoons Honey Lager.
