At times, when the topic of survival comes up (especially in post-collapse scenarios), homeless people are brought up as a model of those already putting the requisite skills into practice.
Well, what better way to find out if this is true than to go and ask them what skills are required for survival?
On December 29th, that's what I did.
On December 28th, it got stupid warm (16 degrees Centigrade at night!) and rained all day, soaking everything.
On the 29th, it dropped well below freezing, and I walked through a blizzard to get to the encampment.
Good time to find out some info...
