I started with a Green River (Russell Cutlery) 5" Skinner and reground the blade to a semi-skinner shape. The blade is 3 5/8" long and the overall length is 7 7/8", flat-ground with a slight convex edge. It is very sharp, and seems to hold a good edge, so far. I'm not sure if it will wind up with a set of green canvas micarta handle scales, or a set of stags. I will post additional pics when it's complete.

Neat. You can also make a Nessmuk style blade outta one of those...my favorite knife is a Nessie made out of a (very similar) Old Hickory Skinner.

Looks like a handy little blade. I've got an Old Hickory skinner on the way that I'm thinking of doing something similar with. Canvas or burlap micarta would look real good on that thing.
