I'm relatively new to posting but the easiest way to get ideas is to ask I guess. I recently posted some pics of my 14 with the factory orange zytel scales. I striped my blade and forced a patina. I feel like the bright orange doesn't really go with the blade. I feel like I'm a fairly crafty person so I've got quite a few pieces of birds eye maple sitting around. Cutting and shaping the scales shouldn't be a problem but attaching the scales to the knife has me slightly puzzled. The factory scales have a nut recessed into the scale. What tool would I use to produce the cut to do the same setup? Or is there another way to go about doing the scales without pinning them? And of course I want to see pics of all the homemade scales out there whether on a small becker, tweener or large becker.
Thanks in advance.
