Has anyone made their own tooling arm for their KMG? I can get a piece of cold-rolled 1.5 square x 20 inch piece of steel for 16 bucks, but would it need any treatment, and how tough would it be to drill and tap the large bolt hole? (just need one for my hollow-grinding wheel).

Thanks -- Burch

you remember what size hole you had to drill and tap? I'm at work and will probably stop by Grizzly's to pick up the tap before I go home.

Cold rolled should work just fine. As to the drilling and tapping, just throw it on the mill and be done with it:)

Sweet -- just picked it up and for 16 bucks, it can't be beat. ;) I hate going from platen to hollow.

Worked like a charm, and only cost me about 30 bucks total --
