For the handle, I think this is the first knife handle of this kind in the world :D

The handle is made of orgonite.
Or, in other words, it is an orgonite handle.

What is orgonite, how it works and if it works you can find on the Internet.

My opinion and experience tells me that it works quite well
and I wanted to have an orgonite by my side
in a survival scenario.

Considering that I don't have the materials or equipment to make a wooden handle,
especially since I don't fancy all that oil soacking etc.
I came with an idea to "merge the pretty and useful" (we have a saying like this).

My idea - the first orgonite knife handle in the world !

The handle is made to be a bit rugged
for the better grip.

And this is a magnesium scraper.
Although most people think it is a firesteel scraper,
it can be used for that too, but you can also do that with many other things
but you can't make magnesium shavings with just anything.

And we took a few pictures in a rustic environment:

And how the production process went along.

The steel is D3.

As you can see, the end product is not always the same as the idea
but, as far as I am concerned, in this case, it is better that it isn't. ;)

Hello,

Very very good looking blade sir! I Googled orgonite and the first site I found said it has all sorts of magical powers. From absorbing radiation to causing the skies to become clear. It also said something about causing you to feel happy when its around you and good for your wellness. Oh and most important to us knife guys it disarms and repels predatory forms of life. Not bashing just restating what the good old internet said. Check it out on orgonite.info, its the first site I found. Sure looks beautiful on your knife even if it can't or can do magic.

Well done sir,

Chris

Thank you very much !

@Socalkid, yes everything you said is true.

Be ware that not all things that people claim as orgonites, really are orgonites.

Most manufacturers make "orgonites" to be pretty
so that they would sell them more easily or at higher price.

Not to mention doing it on purpose so that the people who try them
would lose faith in orgonites. (yes, a conspiracy)

The best way to have them is to make them yourself.

They are not instantly-working, they need some time but they really do work.
That is my reason to have one with me.

From my experience:
They reduce the radiation of different devices (eg. mobile phones and base stations).
They drastically improve weather and prevent hail.
Just to name a few.
Plus the things you said.

Thank you.

Cheers.

A truly beautiful knife sir! Best of all it seems to be up to the task of it's intended purpose. As far as the orgonite handle, I can't think of a better material for a survial situation and if it doesn't work than at least its darn pretty to look at! :)

A knife with magical powers.

Next thing you know there will be a sword inna rock somewhere...

So, what's the handle really made of, if you take away the hocus-pocus?;)

Kind regards,

Jos

PS. I guess you notice I'm a bit skeptical...

Thank you all !

The handle was cast out of, basically, epoxy resin, different metals and crystals.

In my first post I wanted to say that the blade glows blue
in vicinity of orcs, vampires, zombies and other foes
but I am saving it for my (unique ?) machete that I will finish in the next few days.
Well, I guess I have spent that one now.

Seriously, @Socalkid was pretty accurate in describing orgonite.

Relieves you from stress, reduces different EM radiations, improves the weather
(not a climate modification, gets the weather back to normal from other climate modification methods)
plants grow better near them, animals (eg. bees) are more productive (eliminates Colony collapse disorder)
improves the taste and quality of the water, etc. etc.

But I say, don't buy it, most of the orgonites on the net are bad ones.

Read a lot, then make them yourself.

I am not a fool for putting it as a knife handle =)

Cheers.

I dig. It's far off the normal path. But, holistic medicine which has been gaining popularity with doctors, does include therapy with rocks, crystals and stones, plants and metals. I have at one point studied massage and physical therapy and I was required to learn about chakras and healing crystals. So, with the fact that medical science and credited colleges are starting to accept and embrace the properties of the world around us, it isn't too hard for me to believe that you would maybe get a different feeling of vigor, or something. Afterall most of us believe in the spirit of the blade, right? Now you have a special handle too... although as pretty as it is, I keep thinking its a rainbow trout. Fish outta water! Best wishes, maybe ill make one too..

Interesting knife....But yikes. Enough about the properties of "orgonite"...whatever that is. Last I checked this was a knife discussion forum.

1) What about the design of this blade makes it a "survival" knife? And please don't tell me orgonite.

2) Have you done anything with it other than take pictures of it on a stump? I know I'd love to see it cut something if one is supposed to rely on it for "survival."

3) How thick is the blade and why is there a hole in it?

4) Do you consider it a chopper or slicer?

5) Why the skeletonized tang?

Nice work and good craftsmanship! I would not place too much stock in any 'mythical powers' that have been attributed to this well made blade. Also, consider changing the last name for better credibilty.

Looks like a wonderful survival knife with a neat and comfortable, stylish handle.

@zachtateknives
Thank you. I wouldn't suggest discarding this possibility until you learn more about it,
which you can easily do with all the articles around net about it,
or even try it yourself.
If you don't wanna, I can't say that I care because it is your lost only.
I think I have done more than enough by introducing this technology to you and everyone else.
Yes, it is a technology with scientific bases.

@Stubai
Thank you very much.

Cheers.

Good point, and a handle is part of a knife, people discuss the properties, and how to cut,how to drill, how to polish, whats better for this and whats better for that,on other handle materials. I have seen plenty on the pros the cons, and how to make micarta, how to work leather, rubber, paracord, bone, wood, g10, carbon fiber, etc etc etc. Why not Orgonite? Its his handle material of choice, he can rave about it if he must.

1) What about the design of this blade makes it a "survival" knife? And please don't tell me orgonite.
From what I can tell on line, its pretty much standard knowledge almost any knife can be dubbed a survival knife, however most knife enthusiasts will look for more durable steel and handle material. Blade shape that allows for multiple uses and abuses. Which his knife does have, a shape similar to a lot of "Survival" knives or other heavy duty knives like Beckers, Ontarios, etc. Also it looks pretty stout, I have no doubt that it will hold up to making a shelter or batoning or other tasks you need done in a survival situation.

2) Have you done anything with it other than take pictures of it on a stump? I know I'd love to see it cut something if one is supposed to rely on it for "survival."
I have seen lots of expensive and inexpensive knives being sold without a single video or picture of it cutting anything, its not necessary as its understood the basic idea of a knife is to cut. It does look like he pounded the knife into the stump in one picture.

3) How thick is the blade and why is there a hole in it?
It looks like the knife is about 1/4" thick, or around 7mm. The holes are probably for lashing the knife to make a spear, as well as cosmetics.

4) Do you consider it a chopper or slicer?
Judging by the size, and a guess on weight ratio, looks like the knife will do both, its not going to win a chopping competition, nor is a sushi chef going to make it his dedicated knife, but it appears capable of doing a little of both. Its just barely long enough to chop, but just barely short enough to do more detailed work.

5) Why the skeletonized tang?
I'll take a wild stab at this, and say its for weight reduction,as well as the OP may prefer the feel of the knife being blade heavy in its balance, I have seen this done by many makers

Obviously I am not the OP, so I can't give you a 100% positive answer, I thought for sure he was going to answer your questions. I was going to put in a comment earlier but my phone madeitlook horrible, so apologies on the delay and for interrupting this Q&A session.

Valor God, I would heavily recommend pinning or riveting your handles on as well as just gluing them on. Even though you have nice thick steel, my opinion has always been with out pins holding in place the handles, the handle can get torn off or loosen up as you use it simply from vibration and micro flex.

Marcinek, I think you also asked about Magnesium earlier, edited?? Anyways, from the OP's first post, the knife has a scraper to scrape magnesium shavings but the blade and tang is D3 steel

Thanks zachtate! I appreciate you taking the time to offer your take on the knife. It may be best to let Mr. God address my question, though...but again...thanks!

I heartily agree with you that if, in fact, Mr. God's handle scales are not pinned or riveted...they should be.

You asked, in effect "Why not address the properties of orgonite as knife handle material?" And that's a valid point...I would love to see that addressed. As you say, G10, Micarta, etc are discussed often. But I have never, in those discussions, heard anyone claim that those materials "....reduce the radiation of different devices (eg. mobile phones and base stations). ... drastically improve weather and prevent hail." Putting aside what I feel about these claims, those properties do not affect the functionality of the knife. They seem pretty off-topic.

If you put the hunk of orgonite in your pocket or top of your hat or made a belt buckle out of it...it would still have the same effects that Valar God claims.

I'd love to hear Mr. God address what qualities of orgonite make it a good material to use as knife scales.

I certainly hope they involve the design of the knife and not the mystical properties of orgonite! :D

I look forward to hearing them. Thanks.

I apologize I didn't want to make you agitated. I assumed you were just asking in general, but hen I read and you are asking "you" as in directed to valor god, so again apologies for stepping into your q & a session.
