Hello everyone,
I thought I would show off this knife I made. The metal is a STIHL edger blade I found on the side of the road. It said 1078 on it so that is my guess for the steel type. I cut the shape out with an angle grinder and a hacksaw. The handle and sheath are made from scrap wood from home depot. The handle is just glued on for now; I'll bolt it on if it falls off.

Thanks for looking.

Now that's pretty neat. There's something about that cutting
edge that catches the eye.
It's got an interesting look as if it's been clay tempered.

Thanks for the compliment. Those are rust pits all over the parts that haven't been ground down. I electrolytically removed the rust, but I chose to leave the pits there.

looks great for something you found on the side of the road... you have good potential and i look foreword to seeing more work...
