I am not a huge fan of pocket clips...nope...like my traditionals. I wanted to add a lanyard to my much loved 72 to make retrieval quick an easy, but I knew some old quickly tied cord would not do. A knife with this kind of personality deserves something a bit special.

So here is my addition. The leather you see here is adorned with a small piece of juniper (the lighter wood in the middle) that I collected the last time I visited Arizona to visit some close friends. The antler pieces are from the 9 point buck I took last hunting season. My plan is to give each knife that is special to me, it's own meaningful lanyard.

Anyone else have one to share?

I was able to get a knife from a maker I have a huge amount of respect for as a maker and a person. It's all forged out of one piece of steel. Forged to shape and dimension with very little grinding.

The maker is Lin Rhea, American Bladesmith Society Master Smith. The name given to this series of knives is X-Rhea, pronounced X-ray. I had a buddy that makes custom bull whips do the wrap and help me with the nots on the lanyard.

I like pocket clips on my moderns, and lanyards on my traditionals, like to make my own beads so here are a few of mine...
