homemade micarta

i've made some micarta out of wrangler jean, using directions i found on the forum. question is,after installing and getting it shaped to my satisfaction,do i need to coat it with something to prevent staining?

No need to coat it , but you can. Just buff it with some white or pink no scratch rouge and it will shine like a diamond in a goat's butt. Texas humor.
